Packages provide a sustained mentoring service, focussing on tailored goals and providing maximum benefit to the individual student.

Mentoring Packages

The standard School Mentoring Package consists of an extensive initial consultation and ten subsequent mentoring sessions. During a comprehensive consultation, the student’s progress to date is reviewed and achievable goals are set.

The mentor and student then work together to achieve those goals over ten subsequent sessions, of 50 minute sessions each. These sessions generally take place on a weekly in a suitable area of the family home. During a typical mentoring session, students receive tutoring in the relevant subject, and coaching to overcome the issues preventing them from being their best.

Who can benefit?

Mentoring packages are especially suited to students who are not achieving their potential, for example, students who are getting "B" grades instead of "A" grades, or students who are failing when they are capable of passing. There are many reasons why students may not achieve their potential, including not understanding the course content, behavioural issues, performance anxiety or lack of organization. These issues can occur at primary, secondary or tertiary level.

Mentoring packages (which include tutoring as a matter of couse) are suited to students at primary, secondary or tertiary level, including university or long-term TAFE courses.

Subject Tutoring

Morrison Mentoring offers tutoring in a range of subjects, including maths, the sciences, English, English as a Second Language, and some humanities. Study skills such as essay writing, effective study techniques and skill building are also supported. Use the form on the right to contact us to see whether we can meet your needs.

Morrison Mentoring's preferred mode of tutoring is on a regular basis over a fixed period, say, a term or a semester.

Casual tutoring is available, but on the whole, one hour of tutoring the day before an exam will not significantly improve a student's grades.
